Overview

The materials research initiative aims to bring together scientists from a wide range of fields-including materials science, process engineering, chemistry, mechanics, physics, and mathematics- around a common goal: the development of higher-performance materials that meet society's needs (comfort, health, safety, sustainable development, energy savings, recycling, climate change) as well as extreme performance requirements. Since materials are intended for the manufacture of objects capable of withstanding handling and at least the stresses of their own weight, the selection and application of materials depend heavily on the structure of the material, its physicochemical state, the technological parameters of its application, as well as the immediate environment in which it is developed and implemented.
