Judy Campbell-Smith is an author and ice cream aficionado. She loves writing about family, Black history, and diverse cultures. She lives in Ontario, California with her husband and two children. Lucy Semple is an illustrator whose previous books include Ocean Soup: A Recipe for You, Me, and a Cleaner Sea. She works from her home studio, drinking as much tea as she can between projects. She is based in Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom.
