Overview

Ibrahim is the code name of a Mossad operation against Islamic terrorists intent on raising international outrage at Israel's possession of atomic weapon. Although Israel has never acknowledged that they are a nuclear power there is an atomic research facility near Dimona. Dimona is an Israeli city in the Negev desert, 30 kilometres (19 miles) to the south-east of Beersheba and 35 kilometres (22 miles) west of the Dead Sea above the Arava valley in the Southern District of Israel. In 2018 its population was 34,135. The Shimon Peres Negev Nuclear Research Center, colloquially known as the Dimona Reactor, is located 13 kilometres (8.1 miles) southeast of the city. The book, the first in the series 'In Time of War, recounts the events as a team of terrorists, led by Ibrahim, are resourced and assembled to launch a 'spectacular' designed to attract the world media to the use of the Dimona Reactor as a manufacturing and storage facility of nuclear weapons. Mossad intelligence discovers the plot and Oscar Chaiken is tasked to track down the terrorists before the attack takes place. The book shines a light on the politics within Mossad, Hamas, Fatah and the external forces waging a proxy war throughout the Middle East. The novel is a development of an original short story - Saladin, published by the author in a collection in 2016.
