A gap year in Japan after university became a gap life after an innocent ski trip sparked a passion for snowboarding he still has to this day. In addition to, of course, books and snowboarding, music and motorbikes also figure very importantly in his daily life, being voted the number one house music DJ in Japan for three consecutive years in Loud music magazine, Japan, and having gained notoriety for having smashed the speed limit on every major Japanese road without getting caught.
