Overview

Most of these stories are from my ten years in law enforcement. Hundreds of movies have been made and even more books written about big city police departments with their large drug task forces and unlimited resources. Follow me as I became a cop for a small department and was forced to learn how to police on the fly. I hope to show how this occupation can transform your life, from its effects on a marriage to the uncomfortable times with friends and of course the dangerous calls on the streets. Through these stories the reader should gain an understanding of the commitment required to be successful in law enforcement while being informed and entertained at the same time. I was a cop, working in a small town. Really the town was about as small as one could get. I was a one-man police department in a bedroom mountain community; I was the Blue River Marshal.

Jeff graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1976 with a degree in Real Estate/Finance and was hired to be Vice President of one of the largest Real Estate Investment Trusts in the country. While preparing for a life in the corporate world, he found himself the Town Marshal for a one-man department in a small mountain community. As the town marshal, he dramatically lowered the crime rates in Blue River, before moving on to a medium sized department. Today Jeff lives in the Colorado mountains, enjoying the great outdoors.
