i should've known by the way you kissed me

Overview

Part confession... Part love letter... Part reckoning.... Told in four movements--loss, lust, longing, and love--i should have known by the way you kissed me includes themes of queerness and intimate journeys through the body and the heart. These poems explore the sweetness and the ruin of desire: the hunger of first touch, the ache of wanting more, and the quiet devastation of letting go. Blending sensuality, vulnerability, and emotional clarity, the collection offers of portrait of a relationship unraveling and the self that emerges from its ashes.

Reviews

""i should've known by the way you kissed me is a kaleidoscope of emotions - lust, love, want, fear. Like scientists of desire and destruction, jhané and kae dissect the raw human qualities of carnal pleasures and human pain. The collection is a sexy, sad, and decadent journey over the body, every curve. The peekaboo collage artwork by Mirjana M. adds a mysterious and ethereal sensuality to the work. This is a book to read in the tangerine sunset entangled with your lover or alone in the silence after your lover has just slammed the door and left you shattered."" - Rachel Turney Founder of Poetry (in Brief) Author of Retired Wannabe Club Kid ""This beautiful and bold collection of poetry told from two different voices explores the ways in which sexual intimacy can both cause harm and be a beautiful experience. This collection will resonate with those who have experienced the trauma of an abusive relationship as well as those who have come to know the sweet bliss of a true and healthy love. This collection is both tender and passionate, highlighting longing and the pain of letting go, along with the celebration of healthy intimacy."" - Victoria Grace Author of Words for Weary Wanderers
