Maritza Miller is an avid golfer and quilter and loves riding her motorcycle around the backroads of Texas with her loving husband. In 2009, she adopted her wonderful dog Kelli from the Guadalupe Humane Society. They soon became a Pet Partner Therapy Dog team, which inspired the story in I Saw a Dog at School Today. Since then, Kelli has become an Animal Reading Friend. She helps low-level and dyslexic readers improve their skills and visits local elementary schools, nursing homes, employee wellness days, and church services. Once scared of everything, Kelli is now a loving, sweet, gentle, and well-behaved dog. She is the sunshine in Maritza's life and in her heart.
