This time it gets personal; I'm not doing this for them; I'm rising up for me regardless of what I've been through. I'm coming for all I can. I'm taking back my glory, trudging through the fire they carelessly set ablaze. This journey I'm enduring alone, carrying my flag through the flames coming for all they say I can't. I'm on my mission alone, reclaiming my power, effortlessly gliding to my throne! This time it gets personal; I'm doing this for me, coming for all that was destroyed, stolen, and kept away from me. For when I rise, you'll know my name; things won't ever be the same. I wrote these poems to help me cope with my trauma. I always wanted to publish them and tell my story. I was too afraid to speak up and just shoved the book in my closet. I finally found the strength to seek publication. Years later, my dream came true. I hope I can inspire you to keep hope alive and never stop the fight. You have a voice, and don't let anyone silence you.
