Kat Derbecker is a queer artist and educator in Winnipeg Manitoba. They spent much of their upbringing curiously exploring and learning from the land, sparking a passion for the natural world that is now shared with their partner Sammi and dog Blueberry. On weekends this trio can be found on a wide range of adventures including hikes, canoe trips and ski trips. As an artist, Kat specializes in mixed media visual arts, film work, and creative writing, often bringing elements of nature into their creative process.
