Author Information

Susan O' Leary was born in Cork, Ireland. She studied flute in the Cork School of Music with Evelyn Grant. She has attended master classes with Trevor Wye, Susan Milan, Wissam Boustany and Carlo Jans. She studied Music and Psychology in University College Cork, where she graduated with an Master of Arts in 2002. She then moved to Limerick to take up a full time flute teaching post. She has performed as soloist, chamber and orchestral musician in many concert venues throughout Ireland. Her students have enjoyed successes competing nationally for orchestra positions and at music competitions including; the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, Irish Youth Wind Ensemble, Feis Ceoil Dublin, Feis Maithiu Cork and Feile Luimni Limerick. Most recently, a student of hers was awarded the Philip F. Walsh memorial prize for the highest mark at Grade 7 in Ireland, including NI.
