I Look to the Gentle Rain (book 2 of the Mourning Sky Series) is a book about a grief journey continued. Its poems are reflections on living in the tension of great love and great loss and what it looks like to honor both along the way. I Look to the Gentle Rain seeks to acknowledge that grief evolves and persists but so does the love we've been given. Also included are 12 poetry and journaling prompts for further reflection. This collection seeks to honestly explore the very real ups and downs of continuing to navigate the uncertain terrain of grief. We all have our own sky of mourning to look to when we suffer a great loss. And with it will come all kinds of changing weather. Some days will be downpours of sorrow. Others will have rays of unexpected joy. And still, others may be something else entirely: soothing to our aching heart. Honoring our need to release the floodgates of emotions we feel in light of our loss. Watering the ground level of our grieving hearts with the love we wish to share. And despite all odds, growing the hope that's been planted there. Because grief may remain here, but love remains here too. And that love continues through me. That love continues through you.
