Growing up on a small family farm in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Catherine Haala lived a simple life. Years later, she was in for quite the shock when she witnessed real poverty for the first time while working on location as a model in the Philippines. These images stayed with her. A children's book author, inventor, entrepreneur, actress and model, Haala is the president and founder of The World Is Our Neighborhood (www.TWION.org), a 501(c)(3) volunteer charity that teams up with like-minded individuals to be the change we'd like to see in the world. TWION is dedicated to uplifting wellness of mind, body and spirit of people around the world. TWION's work includes relocating medical equipment, supplies and furnishings to upgrade the level of healthcare in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and wellness centers.
