After receiving Christ as Savior in her midtwenties, she took Bible courses to prepare for overseas missionary service. However, at the age of twenty-nine, she was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma, changing her availability for international mission work. But God used it to completely change her understanding of how scriptural truth lived out in the believer's life ought to cause every attitude and action to glorify God. Dr. Nell, as she is called by those who know her well, is coauthor of The Valley Is Bright and author of To Glorify God and is active in her full-time ministry with cancer patients, serving under the board of Colonial Hills Baptist Church. She received an honorary Doctor of Humanities degree in 1992 from Indiana Baptist College of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is a certified nouthetic counselor with the National Association of Nouthetic Counselors and is the national director of the Hope in Crisis(R) extension aspect of her ministry. She has written materials and trained local church personnel across the United States, preparing them to give biblical hope in human crisis. Dr. Collins is a frequent speaker for ladies' seminars and has a heart for seeing biblical truth applied to individual lives. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
