What does it mean to be a Christian? That term is so loosely thrown around among those whose lives lack any evidence to show for it. Beneath the façade of my Christian identity, my only expertise seemed to lie in the realms of gossip, hypocrisy, deceit, and sinful behavior-all the while projecting a self-assured image of being a follower of Christ. He set me free of things I didn't know I was enslaved by (Romans 6:6); He gave me lasting gifts the world cannot offer (Matthew 7:11). All by handing the reins of my self-controlled life into the hands who reigns over all. By committing to a relationship with Him, He has begun to remove the blindfold of deception and uncover the banner of truth, teaching me that Christianity is deeper than a belief, but a lifestyle.
