Why is it that for so many Christians, the Christian life is not fulfilling? It is because we satisfy ourselves with the plastic plaque of convenience, instead of the pain and suffering that comes with endurance to run the race to the end. Believer's Stress is the direct result of discovering that the plastic toy is not agreeing with the picture given by Christ Himself. So many preachers picture a life style of health, wealth, acceptance by the masses. They will use the Bible to make their point; they will go into great detail concerning believer's testimonies and what to do when it does not work for you. They will point out your inadequacies, your need to confess up-to-date, your lack of tithing, your lack of faith, you don't serve good enough, and you don't do this or that, whatever gets them off the hook when you question their message and belief system. You feel robbed of the Life that the Bible promised and as so often is the case, you blame God. We are back at our introduction; if God loves me, why do I have to go through all of this? You have to go through all of this so you will see the purpose of it all. If He had told you beforehand, you would not have believed him, would you? Why did the Lord Jesus Christ not prevent Peter to deny him at such a crucial hour before his crucifixion? Because, Peter needed to understand that Peter was a part of a far greater plan than that unfortunate evening.
