"Writer Jamie C.H. Gao is a seasoned Mandarin teacher in the Bay Area, California. From pre-school to college, she has taught about 400 students. Jamie is also a well-traveled, award-winning artist and writer. Her first children's book, ""The Blue Balloon"" is a favorite book for young readers. She is most proud of her students who have published their works in the Chinese newspaper. One student also published a book. Currently, Gao teaches at a prestigious private high school in San Mateo. Her approach to education is student-centered and project-based. Her project works with students have been presented in the college and educational communities. She also has written an essay and shared her practice on Project-Based Language Learning with the cohort. During her rare free time, Gao leads Mandarin storytime around the Bay Area and devotes her time to design and experiment effective Mandarin learning curriculum for all stage of learners."
