I Am Family

Overview

An enigmatic French teacher from Northwest India adopts a tenacious but quiet American mom as his sister after discovering their mutual appreciation for language and good character. The intersecting but highly divergent worlds of two people who both rose up out of the toxic terror of abuse to craft new paths forward. A perplexing but eye-opening journey through the nuances of up-bringing, culture, psychology, personal values and personality development, in which such variables culminate in an epic display of equally eye-opening results. Approx. 245 pages.

Author Information

Petra Cineálta is a native of beautifully wild Maine, U.S.A. where she lives with her husband Ian and three teenage children. Petra enjoys spending time in nature, and in particular, loves mountain climbing and anything that takes her out on the water. Having been raised by parents who devoted themselves to her education, she loves all the sciences and has a special interest in anthropology, geography, and travel. Petra's interests and desire to learn led her to meet and become connected with the other person whose memoirs appear prominently in this book. Petra's personal connections have developed in her a lasting love and appreciation for the places and cultures from which she made such connections, for example: Nicaragua, France, Benin (West Africa), India, and various regions of the U.S.
