Author Information

Dawn Brookes initially trained in Leicester, England. She moved to London where this book is set and then to Reading in Berkshire where she also trained as a midwife. She later trained as a district nurse whilst undertaking a Bachelor's degree. She worked as a district nursing sister and undertook a Masters degree in health care, later working as a lecturer/practitioner. Following this she moved to Derby and worked as a community matron and more recently an advanced nurse practitioner, gaining Post graduate diplomas in advanced practice and health research. She has a good sense of humour while maintaining an earnest desire to encourage high standards of practice.
