J. E. Spina is a retired administrative secretary from a school system. She is an award-winning author with nine children's books, Louey the Lazy Elephant, Ricky the Rambunctious Raccoon, Jerry the Crabby Crayfish, Lamby the Lonely Lamb, Jesse the Precocious Polar Bear, Broose the Moose on the Loose, Sebastian Meets Marvin the Monkey, Colby the Courageous Cat, and Jeffrey the Jittery Giraffe written under Janice Spina. Davey & Derek Junior Detectives Series Books 1-5 (MG/PT/YA books) have received five book awards (3 Pinnacle Book Achievements Awards and 2 Reader's Favorite Awards). Lamby the Lonely Lamb received a Silver Medal from Mom's Choice Awards, Jerry the Crabby Crayfish and Broose the Moose on the Loose both won Pinnacle Book Achievement Awards. Hunting Mariah is her first published novel written under J.E. Spina. Janice has also published How Far is Heaven (paranormal/romance/mystery) and a short story collection, An Angel Among Us, which is a multi-genre collection.
