Author Information

As a child, having been inspired by many brilliant books I read as a child, I harboured an aspiration of becoming a publish author.I attempted several times to write fictional novels. Frustratingly, I never managed to write more than a couple of chapters before getting myself caught up in a seemingly endless loop of editing and rewriting those first few chapters. That dream of being a published author faded until it was nothing more than a distant memory of a failed dream, a dead dream.Decades past before I found myself working in primary schools and that dream began to flutter back to life.Next came two grandchildren. Reading stories and playing with them, this inspired me to nurture that aspiration again. Soon the ideas began to sprout - My first book was to be an illustrated children book.Writing and illustrating my first book, 'Humpty Dumpty: An eggstraordinary tale', was a bit of a rollercoaster. I love doodling, sketching and I have even dabbled in a little bit of digital artwork. However, trying to create colourful and consistent illustrations was something I never done before... and then I worried about not being able to it published if I finished the book. With dogged determination, bolstered by passion and desire to not let this dream fade away again, I gave it my all. I wrote a single verse before researching the origins and potential links to the Humpty Dumpty nursery rhyme. My story grew, I developed illustrations and characters which evolved overtime. Then finally, my book was done and on the 18th March 2026 I realised a childhood dream - I had become a published author.
