Overview

Humor Straight is a gathering of my previously published humorous newspaper columns that were printed in the Meadville, Pa., Tribune, and a dozen wholly fictional burlesques that are gathered under the title The Dawning of the Age of Invention. The purpose of Humor Straight is to dispel boredom - while one is commuting, waiting, lazing around, or simply taking a crap.

In June, 1960, Hugh graduated concurrently from Allegheny College and Carnegie Mellon University. Widowed, he lives in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Hugh's other published books include The Bluing of Cooper Greens, an eye-opener about an outwardly quiet nursing home for elders, where calm and implicit decency vanishes amid the uproar of pranks and false rumors orchestrated by bored resident Tom Murtaugh and his black roommate, Aaron Blodgett. Murder Light, is a story of false clues that frustrate a tough female city detective and a computer executive who couple, rock, roll, and zigzag their way over, under, and through a personal computer company's ongoing manufacturing concern, to the bombshell revelation of who it was that murdered the computer company's founder. Alpha Words II is a gathering of recent nouns such as bitcoin, Higgs boson, and webinar, plus more common verbs or participles, including boot and gaming, and a potpourri of this-and-that, a mix of wandering, stray mutts such as ecth, epostilary, and gnomic. Alpha Words II largely supports business speech and writing.
