Overview

The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) confers the ESCAP Human Resources Development Award annually in recognition of exceptional contributions made in the area of human resources development. This award distinguishes innovative and sustainable approaches to HRD in the region and contains a case study of the Award winner. In addition, there are six other case studies including two runners-up, three honorable mentions and one short list. It is hoped that the innovative approaches of these seven organizations will inspire and serve as a useful reference for others throughout the region in HRD work for the empowerment of people with disabilities.
