Reviews

In this Second Edition, Flora and Keohane have provided an important update of this seminal book. Every clinician who works with sex offenders will appreciate the detailed and pragmatic help in navigating the complex systems involved with treating this population. Especially of interest are updated and expanded sections on assessment and treatment of internet sex offenders, sex addiction, and female offenders. This is book, like its first addition, remains the most important clinical reference book on sex offenders available. - Terry S. Trepper, PhD, Editor, Journal of Family Psychotherapy; Professor of Psychology, Purdue University Calumet This edition of How to Work With Sex Offenders is a truly comprehensive handbook whose usefulness spans multiple professions. It exposes the professional reader, clearly and understandably, to the workings of the other systems- from legal and law enforcement to social services to mental health treatment. - Jana Dreyzehner, MD, Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist; Chief Medical Officer, Health Connect America

This book is empathic, compassionate, evidence-based, comprehensive and replete with guidelines to steer the day-to-day practice of dealing with sex offenders. I heartily recommend it to those who encounter such clients in any setting. - John Ludgate, PhD, Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, CBT Center, Asheville, NC After reviewing this book through the eyes of a former prosecutor with over 25 years experience in the prosecution of adult and juvenile sex offenders, I find it to be an excellent resource and required reading for all current and future mental health professionals. - Dennis L.
