Author Information

Miakpo Emiaso is President of a customary court with exclusive original jurisdiction for customary Letters of Administration. Called to the Nigerian bar in 1989, he has practised at all levels of court in Nigeria including the Supreme Court. He holds a Masters Degree in Law and a Diploma in Journalism. He has worked with the Nigerian Observer as Senior Reporter covering the National Assembly in the second republic and the New Nigerian Newspapers as Senior Sub-editor. He was West African Correspondent for Seatrade Magazine published in the United Kingdom and has been a lecturer in law with the Times Journalism Institute, Lagos and Examiner/Assessor with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) for over two decades. Emiaso is the author of the best selling Law, Practice and Procedure: Area Customary Courts in Nigeria (2010), Co-operative Societies Law and Practice in Nigeria (2011), Landlords and Tenants under Nigerian Laws (2012). He co-authored Banking Laws and Regulations in Nigeria in 2006 and wrote the non-law text Forgiveness: A Sure Path to Peace and Joy in 2015.
