Overview

How To Not Drown: Awareness Saves Lives! 'How To Not Drown: Awareness Saves Lives' is a book written in the hopes that those who ever come into a possible situation of drowning have the knowledge that could possibly help them help themselves to not drown. By understanding some fundamental facts about water safety, some can be saved. This quick read, yet in-depth booklet is written by Jennifer T. Webb, a near-drowning survivor who died twice in one night and almost a third time from Secondary and Dry Drowning! She miraculously lived to tell and teach about how to not drown from the perspective of someone who has lived through what some others have not in similar situations. The techniques and suggestions in this book are not medically validated. They are written from the experiential view of the author as a drowning, near-death experiencer. She certainly does not propose to put anyone at risk by learning or practicing water-based safety. Instead, she hopes that those who are ever in a situation where there may be moments of drowning panic, know that they can possibly help themselves not drown. Learning and practicing water-based awareness is one of the secrets to not drowning. Studying the life-saving information in this book may also prompt all water players and dwellers to take a closer look at conditions when showing up around any bodies of water. Included in this emergency preparedness booklet is information about Ocean's Rip Tides, which are really Rip Currents. When a person is swept out to sea by a giant wave, they may be caught in a Rip Current that takes them out to sea. The way to get back to shore is to swim parallel to the shore, in order to catch the waves that are heading towards the beach. With this knowledge, you may be able to save your own life or the life of someone else. The best way to go play in the water is to embrace safety techniques and methods first. Water-Based Awareness Saves Lives!
