Overview

Although perfect counts are not possible to come by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) estimates that 40,056 veterans are homeless on any given night. Additionally, About 12,700 veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and Operation New Dawn (OND) were homeless in 2010. The number of young homeless veterans is increasing, however only constitutes 8.8% of the overall homeless veteran population. In simplicity, This book intends to assist veterans and transitioning active duty service members with basic steps to take moving into civilian life by making them aware of the benefits that they have earned in serving their country; while also showing them how to avoid becoming a homeless veteran. This book is intended for not only veterans, but Social Services, Veteran Administration, and all military installations.
