How to Find Flow: 3 steps for high performance and deep resilience

Overview

Finding flow when it matters is the single most important strategy for performing under pressure and delivering our best work. It is also key to personal well-being. In How to Find Flow Dr Cameron Norsworthy brings over 20 years of study and work as a 'Flow Coach' to transform Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's important theory of flow into a fully accessible 3-step process everyone can use. Based on his proven 'Ready, Steady, Flow' model which he has developed over decades with hundreds of clients, including professionals, entrepreneurs, military personnel and elite athletes, Dr Norsworthy shows how to develop a Flow Mindset to transform periods of stress, boredom, distraction and nervousness into opportunities and energy for effortless performance. He also offers clear strategies for bouncing back from setbacks and refocusing when we are interrupted. In a world where our attention is continually interrupted, making it all too easy to lurch from one stressor and distraction to another, How to Find Flow will help us reclaim focus and fulfil our full potential.

Reviews

Really clear and comprehensive all the way. You might come to Cameron looking to improve your performance, but what you come away with is just so much more than that. -- Hazel Findlay – Record-breaking climber, mindset coach and podcaster (UK) An exciting model that will undoubtedly help many for years to come. -- Rebecca Soni, Six-time Olympic Medalist, Swimmer (USA) Cameron has helped me not only in sport but also in life in general. His skills have been very transferable across my life. -- Martina Wegmen – World Champion kayaker (Netherlands) Cameron has helped me strengthen my mindset and mental approach to elite skiing; the lessons have helped me become World Champion and affected my entire life for the better. -- Lorraine Huber – Pro Skier, Freeride World Champion and Mental Health Coach (Austria) A much-needed advancement on the conceptualisation, measurement and application of flow. Cameron has brought clarity to an otherwise incoherent area of research. -- James Dimmock, Professor, James Cook University (Australia) It is the best book I have read on Flow and I have read many. Accessible for all to discover how they can, themselves given their own circumstance, reach to flow. -- John Hendry OAM (Order of Australian Medal), Educator, Speaker
