Author Information

Jerry Berger has worn three different hats within the industry: As an OTR (over-the-road) professional driver, he has driven forty-eight states plus Canada. His driver duties also included the additional responsibility of training new drivers starting within the industry. After leaving the road his occupational duties changed to that of Safety Director, working for two national trucking companies that ran freight, refrigerated and dry throughout the United States and Canada. The third aspect of his career in the transportation industry has been as a Certified Commercial Driving School Instructor, teaching all driving and backing-up skills required of the trucking profession, in addition to teaching classroom curriculum including Hours of Service regulations.
