OverviewThis is a children's illustrated guide to the early Greek myths. It attempts to capture the vivacity, humor and tragedy of the ancient Greek cosmology and the continuing spirit of Greece. It was illustrated by the son and narrated by the mother, both professional elementary grade teachers for the purposes of educating Western children on their Greco Roman heritage and it attempts to instill a passion for that in their formative hearts and minds. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationBrian Hanson Appleton is author of two non fiction books on Iran, Tales From the Zirzameen and Shamshone: Sun of Assyria, a book of his poetry, 1000 Years at the Bottom of a Well and appears in two anthologies: Love and Pomegranates and Borderlines Col 2. His has written numerous articles and interviews for many publications and periodicals such as Persian Heritage Magazine, Zan Magazine, The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Hack Writers.com, My Life in Italy.com and others. He holds a BA in Anthropology and am MA in Ancient History. He grew up in Greece, Italy and Iran and was a fine artist for 3 years in Siena. He is also nationally certified to teach K-6 and English as a Foreign Language. He is currently on the board of directors of the College of Adaptive Arts of San Jose, Ca. which serves the special needs students with abilities in the fine arts and performing arts. He originally made the illustrations for this children's book back in 1972 for his mother who was a professional 6th grade teacher who provided the captions. It was her goal to instill a love of our Greco Roman heritage in the minds and hearts of our children.
