Table of ContentsReviews""In a collection of his work, Dallas Lee takes a searching, vulnerable, and poignant look at a life richly lived as it enters its final quarter. Scenes from a Texas Baptist boyhood. A love affair with both words and a good woman. A stolen swim on a midnight beach. Graveside reflections on an icon closely known. Lee invites us all, because, as he writes, 'No harm befalls any writer's heart.'"" --John Cleghorn, Pastor, Caldwell Presbyterian Church, Charlotte ""Dallas Lee's poems are a delight. Whether talking about his North Texas childhood, memories of baseball fields, or random musings about life, his poems are both wistful and profound. His love of words--and a life now 'eight decades gone'--shows through on every page. His poems made me laugh, smile, and think."" --Jim Morrill, Retired Political Reporter, Charlotte Observer ""Accomplished writer David McCullough once observed, 'Writing is thinking. To write well is to think clearly. That's why it's so hard.' In these poems, Dallas Lee has written well through clear thoughts. His memories of yesteryear promote visions for the future. Loving fathers, treasured spouses, valued siblings, foundational commitments, serendipitous grace, insights into intentions, and small moments of huge implications invite readers to embrace empathy and swim in the sublime cleansing waters of compassion."" --Dennis W. Foust, Senior Minister, St. John's Baptist Church, Charlotte Author InformationDallas Lee is a retired journalist/speechwriter and author of three books--The Cotton Patch Evidence (1971); The Substance of Faith (1972), edited from tape-recorded extemporaneous presentations by theologian Clarence Jordan; and a book of poetry, No Kind of Blues (2022).
