Overview

Meet Carlos, a yellow-crowned parrot and beloved resident of Merazonia, a wildlife rehabilitation center in the heart of the Ecuadorian Amazon. Carlos can't walk or fly-but that doesn't stop him! Using a coconut shell and leaves, he builds his own airplane and sets off to visit the other animals at the center, both temporary and permanent, and learns their stories Along the way, Carlos meets baby Saddleback Tamarin monkeys, a sleepy sloth, an old kinkajou, and many more fascinating friends. This story introduces kids to the incredible work done by wildlife rehabilitation centers around the world and opens their eyes to some of nature's most unique and lesser-known species.
