Hourglass Harlequin ventures to explore the mundane, and to look for the beauty hiding in the corners of life that tend to collect dust. The speaker reflects upon the ashes that accompany the living, and wonders how it is possible to infuse life into sorrow, disappointment, and heartbreak. This collection of poetry confronts, with a playful curiosity, how the internal and external world may intersect, or sometimes miss one another entirely. As the speaker closely examines parts of her own inner voyage, she wishes you well on yours.

Aleks Pavlovic is a first-generation Serbian American writer, and is a licensed attorney in the State of Oregon. Aleks is based in her hometown of Chicago, where she enjoys meditating on the train, strength training, and loving on her pets. Hourglass Harlequin is Aleks's first published book of poetry.
