Author Information

"-Dana Damron was born and spent much of his youth in Kansas. When in high school, the family moved to Idaho and the mountains of the West. Dana has always been mesmerized by horses. In high school, he was able to have a couple of horses. But after high school, Dana embarked on a long road of education and life experiences that did not include horseback riding. Later in life, while living and working as a physician on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, Dana started horseback riding once again. His first horse was an Arabian mare that was indomitable when riding the mountains and valleys of Glacier National Park or the nearby Bob Marshall Wilderness. In addition, we did some riding in the Canadian Rockies. After seven years, Dana and his family moved back east so Dana could pursue additional education. A few years later, Dana and family returned to the west and settled in Billings, MT. It was then that Dana began to horseback ride in Yellowstone National Park, but also continued to ride in Glacier National Park, while continuing to work as a physician. Dana and his wife LeAnn have eight children and currently reside in Anchorage, AK. However, they return to Montana from time to time, as Montana will always be ""home."""
