Author Information

"Burl L Brooks is a man of many talents, horse trainer, poet, genealogist, husband, uncle and father, Raised in rural Missouri, on a small horse farm, books and horses were often his only outlet for a wildly creative imagination. He developed a fascination for writing early in life, but it wasn't until much later that he really started writing in earnest. He developed a love for books, but poetry in particular always grabbed his attention. It started with copying Elizabeth Barrett Browning and Emily Dickinson for girlfriends, then, before he knew it, he was penning ""sonnets"" of his own. As he has matured, so has his writing. In the early 1990s, while serving in the USAF he was stationed at RAF Lakenheath north of London, England. While there he got to do a bit of rambling and even picnicked on the lawn of Cambridge University. Nowadays, Burl spends most of his time in the saddle, which inspires him to keep writing, for his love of the written word is second only to his love of horses."
