Overview

Hope was an intuitive teen growing up on the plains of Kansas in the early twentieth century. She shared dreams, desires, and precocious poetry in her journal of self-discovery. Years later, her grandson Rad takes her journal along on his own journey of self-exploration. Young lovers Lily and Rad travel the West Coast, defending ancient forests and searching for Sasquatch. Their reflections on the experiences they share intertwine with those found in Hope's journal-from accounts of the 1918 pandemic to thoughts on coming of age-to create an exciting tale full of romance, adventure, and metaphysics.

David A. Mitchell has a BS in Education from the University of Texas and a Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has lived in Eugene, Oregon since 1980. The teacher, songwriter, and forest defender translates his experience fighting fires and planting trees into vivid outdoor scenes and extraordinary, breathtaking action. Grace Jolene Schaubroeck is a mother, poet, and mystic. She lives in Utica, Nebraska.
