A rhyming pattern that is comparable to Dr. Seuss makes the book easy to read, fun to read, and helps with memorization and stimulation. Lou the owl is engaging for children as they will want to shout out and help him find the missing letters. Joey Acker did an excellent job of creating a fun environment that will excite readers when they see the letters hiding in the background. Joey Acker is clearly a professional in the field of children's books. The rhythmic, almost lyrical pattern of Hootie Lou is perfect for young children. The book can be chanted and sung, which is very helpful with memorization and simply making the story more fun and exciting to a young audience.
