Ralph Caribou and crew, launched the first Missinippi Challenge which began in 1985. Sylvia was inspired by her older siblings to follow her dream. To become the greatest canoe race challenger of the Missinippi River. She has been following the Missinippi Challenge since it began. Sylvia and her brother Napoleon Castel entered as a mixed team in 1983. It took 13 hrs from Sandy Bay, Sk to Pukatawagan, MB. Which they took home 3rd place in the mixed category. For her, it's all about completing the race and endurance. AUTHOR BIO: Sylvia is the 3rd youngest of thirteen children.
