Overview

A newcomer has arrived at Hollyhill Farm. When Conker the pony comes to live at the farm, he's lonely; he's the only one of his kind there. He hopes to make friends with the cows and sheep but soon discovers they don't want him. They think he's the family's favourite animal on the farm and are jealous of all the attention he gets. Alone and ignored, can Conker find a way to make friends with the other animals, or will the lonely pony need to find a new home? A story of family, friendship and fitting in.

Author Information

Helen Haraldsen is a children's author, English teacher and former school librarian. Her mission in life is to inspire young people to love reading and writing so that they have the literacy skills they need to access life's opportunities: being Lit Fit for Life! She loves writing books for and with young people, and introducing children to the book that turns them into a reader is one of the highlights of her job. When she's not reading, writing or teaching, she'll be busy at home in Cumbria looking after a variety of horses, dogs, ducks and geese! She's a life-long animal lover and often uses her own pets as characters in her books.
