Jim Davidson is an associate professor in the department of Asian and international studies at Victoria University of Technology and author of ""Lyrebird Rising,"" which won the Nettie Palmer Prize for Non-Fiction and the ""Age"" Non-Fiction Book of the Year Award. Peter Spearritt is a research professor and director of the National Centre for Australian Studies at Monash University and the author of ""The Sydney Harbour Bridge"" and ""Sydney Since the Twenties.""
