Holden FX and FJ Handbook: Information for the Enthusiast

Overview

Don Loffler knows his early model Holdens. In addition to researching them for decades, he has owned an FX and an FJ, and he now owns another FX. He is therefore well qualified to present this must-have handbook for early model Holden enthusiasts. This full identification guide for FX and FJ Holdens includes tables for body and trim colours, serial and engine numbers, and the dating of window glass. Hundreds of photographs provide examples of the data being described, including those showing fascinating crayon writing on the firewall. There are even photographs of rare ex-government vehicles in colours not available to the general public.

Author Information

Some people guess that Don Loffler is the son or relative of a Holden dealer, or a former Holden factory employee, or someone closely connected with the motor trade. He is none of these, but a retired German, Latin and Chemistry teacher, who is enjoying the process of writing books on his passion - the early Holden models and the history behind them. Born in Kapunda, South Australia, he gained an Arts degree and two Education diplomas from the University of Adelaide. His late wife, also a graduate with similar degrees from the same university, was his inspiration in the initial years of his book writing and the tradition is now maintained by his adult son Michael and daughter Helen. Lois and Michael have been valuable proofreaders of Don's manuscripts over many years.
