OverviewFollowing a successful interview during my 1951 summer college vacation, I was hired by the U.S. Army Signal Corps Laboratories and assigned to work with repatriated WW II scientists who were reassembling a captured WW II German electron microscope then of great interest to our government. During one of our team lunch breaks, I asked one of them if he knew how it was used during the war? He said that he had been told was used by Hitler's personal physician. I recall being surprised by learning that. I remained curious about who had it and how it was used and decided some years later to explore it further. What I found was rather remarkable and lead to a series of events regarding the training of German physicians following Hitler's rise to power in Nazi Germany in the 1930's by his decrees. These were based on doctored, pseudo-science eugenics concepts that punished and divided members of its resident population, eventually leading to the Holocaust. My findings revealed that there were three Nazi physicians serving Hitler's medical needs over time, one of which was his favorite and to whom the electron microscope was given. In addition, I learned that this physician had kept a secret diary which lead to further secrets involving culpable crimes by many Nazi physicians and repatriated scientists that were covered up by our own post-war agencies that readers will find revealing including a July 1943 Nazi memo stated that total war precluded the use of hospital beds for the aged or infirm who were killed in order to facilitate treatment of wounded soldiers along with involuntary experiments that also led to concentration camp inmate deaths. My findings also lead directly to Hitler's de facto familial gatherings including Eva Braun, Albert Speer, Martin Bormann and others at his personal Berchtesgaden residence including formerly unknown events within his underground Fuhrerbunker hideout in Berlin prior to its capture by USSR troops which our readers should also find fascinating.
