Overview

Written by an authority on Adolf Hitler, this book charts new ground and shows how the writings of a deluded ex-monk, Lanz von Liebenfels and the pseudo-science of Liebenfels and other writers convinced Hitler that Germany's destiny was to save the world form a Jewish-Bolshevik conspiracy. It was this perverted sense of destiny that drove the Nazi Party and led to the outbreak of the Second World War and the deaths of some sixty million people as well as the destruction of much of Europe. Using the writings of Liebenfels from his magazine Ostara, Dr. Andrew Norman demonstrates how the mass murders of Jews, Gypsies, mentally-ill people and those regarded as less than human had its roots in articles written by Liebenfels. An index of Ostara articles is included and their very titles indicate the malign influences that shaped Hitler's Germany. AUTHOR: Dr. Andrew Norman worked as a GP in Dorset before a spinal injury ended his medical career. He is now an established writer who has produced biographies of such notables as Sir Francis Drake, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Thomas Hardy, T.E. Lawrence, Agatha Christie, Jane Austen and Robert Mugabe. He is also the author of Adolf Hitler: The Final Analysis and of HMS Hood: Pride of the Royal Navy, a study of the loss of the famous battlecruiser. SELLING POINTS: . Written by a medical doctor, this book sheds light on the mind of one of the most reviled figures of the twentieth century, Adolf Hitler, who, today, would have been treated for schizophrenia . Hitler was not anti-Semitic as a young man until he was influenced by the writings of the deluded, defrocked monk, Liebenfels . How the Nazi Party fed on those delusions . Why Stalin's Soviet Union was never a threat to pre-war Germany ILLUSTRATIONS: 30 b/w pictures *
