Author Information

Prof Dr Stephan Conermann teaches the History of the Islamicate World at the Institute of Oriental and Asian Studies, University of Bonn. Dr. Thomas Becker is head of the archive of the University of Bonn and lecturer at the Institute for History, Department for Rhineland History. Dr Abdelkader Al Ghouz studied Islamic studies, translation and political science. He completed his Ph.D. in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Bonn. Since October 2016, he has been the academic coordinator for the Annemarie Schimmel Kolleg Centre for Advanced Studies. His research focuses on Mamluk history, Islamic philosophy, theology, and contemporary Arabic thought.
