"English summary: This is the fourth installment of the collected works of Reinhold Bichler and contains twelve articles that examine ancient historiography, in addition to a study on the historical reception of Alexander the Great's empire, published for the most part between 2003 and 2014. A clear theme of this collection is the examination of ancient historiography, especially concerning the reception of Herodotus and Ctesias, as well as the biographies of Alexander, the construction of the image of ""the Orient"" and the antagonism between Europe and Asia in ancient history and historical thinking.
