He serves on several international boards and committees involved in multinational peacekeeping. Mark W. DeLancey is Professor Emeritus with the department of Government and International Studies at the University of South Carolina. He has taught at the University of Nigeria, Somali National University, and the University of Yaounde. He is a member of the Board of the African Studies Association, Executive Director of the Association of African Studies Programs, and Associate Director of the International Studies Association.
