Alle lof is verschuldigd aan Allah, om Wiens hulp we smeken, en om Wiens vergeving, leiding, en bescherming tegen ons eigen kwaad en zonden we zoeken. Hij die Allah recht leidt, niemand kan hem doen dwalen; en wie Hij doet afdwalen, niemand kan hem recht leiden. Ik getuig dat er geen ware god het waard is om aanbeden te worden behalve Allah alleen Die geen partner heeft, en ik getuig dat Mohammed, moge Allah zijn vermelding verheffen, de slaaf is van Allah, en Zijn Boodschapper. Moge Allah zijn vermelding verheffen en hem en zijn huishouding, zijn Metgezellen, en degenen die hun weg volgen, veiligheid toekennen op de Dag van Opstanding. Een van de genades die Allah, de Verhevene, aan de Moslims heeft gegeven is dat Hij voor ons daden van aanbidding heeft toegewezen welke ons dichter bij Hem brengen te allen tijde. Herinnering aan Allah en smeekbedes zijn twee van zulke daden van aanbidding. All praise is due to Allah, for Whose help we implore, and for Whose forgiveness, guidance, and protection from our own evils and sins we seek. He whom Allah guides rightly, none can lead him astray; and whom He leads astray, no one can guide him rightly. I bear witness that there is no true god worthy of worship except Allah alone Who has no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention, is the slave of Allah, and His Messenger. May Allah exalt his mention and grant him and his household, his Companions, and those who follow their path safety on the Day of Resurrection. One of the graces that Allah, the Exalted, has bestowed upon the Muslims is that He has ordained for us acts of worship that bring us closer to Him at all times. Remembrance of Allah and supplication are two such acts of worship.
