His Majesty's Pageboy: The Hunter to Macquarie Collection, Bk 4

Overview

His Majestys Pageboy. London to Emu Plains, Australia, in the 1800s. Jack Turner was born into a life of pomp and privilege that was not rightfully his. He was brought to the royal court for his protection. By age ten, he served as King George the Third’s pageboy and was known as Lord John. For years, he struggled against society’s immorality and people’s shallowness; then, he met an unspoiled young girl whose purity stood out amidst the mire of humanity. He is unable to pursue her before his life hits a wall. Martha Alexander is the daughter of a wealthy shipping merchant. She has been presented to London’s second tier of society, where she meets the young man of her dreams. She is expected to marry well, and Lord John sets her heart fluttering. However, her father’s drinking shatters her future. He was made to sign all his possessions away while drunk, unknowingly including his daughter. Refusing a forced marriage changes her life. How did these two young people end up as convicts in Australia?
