She started working at an auto repair shop at the age of four. She worked on her first car at the age of six. She graduated from BGHS in 1983 and attended Green River Community College. She took a shortcut through the woods when the Green River Killer was active. She moved to Seattle, and a dead body was found in the crawl space under her apartment. She attended Highline Community College and graduated with an Associate of Applied Science in Early Childhood Education. She crossed Meeker Street Bridge every day on the way from HCC to her apartment while the bodies were buried there. She attended Central Washington University for teacher certification and was regarded as a top student. At CWU, her apartment was one and a half blocks from Ted Bundy's fourth murder. Later she attended Central Washington University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics. She attended Washington State University on a teaching assistantship. Due to the financial pressures of being a single parent, she left school to work in industry. She later went back to Washington State University and majored in mechanical engineering. Again, she was regarded as a top student, but for reasons WSU refused to disclose, she wasn't allowed to graduate. She was stalked, and he hadn't stopped. Finally, she aided in Daniel James Bondehagen's capture. In 2021, she declined the reward and negotiated for the right to publish her books internationally.
