He teaches on the Psychology PGDE programme at the University of Strathclyde, training and mentoring new psychology teachers. Concurrently he is a school teacher delivering Higher Psychology at e-Sgoil, a school in the Outer Hebrides which uses online learning. Previously he worked for 16 years teaching psychology at Hutchesons' Grammar School in Glasgow. He is a committee member of the British Psychological Society's Psychology of Education Section, and a regular speaker at Scotland-based events run by the Association for the Teaching of Psychology (ATP).
