OverviewThis text represents the current findings in the association of all three soft gamma ray repeaters with high velocity neutron stars. The necessity for the meeting emerged as the result of two important observations: some neutron stars are born with high velocities and are not members of any previously known Galactic population; and soft gamma ray bursts are young (high velocity) neutron stars still associated with observable supernova remnants. This workshop brought together experts on high velocity neutron stars, on supernova explosions and on gamma-ray burst to explore these observations and their implications.
